Please be advised that after many weeks of absence due to a transmitter fault, MRI will be back on the air tomorrow, Sunday, 9 July 2017, with its original, very old and just refurbished transmitter as follows: 08.30-11.30 UTC on 11390 kHz AM with only 25 watts.

Similar to recent years, FRS will be on air in the Summer period with evening broadcasts. For this year we’ve decided to do two broadcasts.
The first one is scheduled for next Sunday July 30th starting at 17:52 UTC/ 19:52 CEST. Close down will be three hours later at 21:00 UTC/ 23:00 CEST.
Frequencies will be 7700// 48 mb (yet unknown which frequency). So for this time we won't be on 9300 kHz/ 31 metres but instead 48 metres.

It will be the inofficial celebration of our 37th anniversary and further details will be published in the course of August. All shows will be thematic that evening! Most likely we'll be issuing a brand new special QSL.

648kc kuului eilen illalla todella komeasti ja nyt aamusta hiljalleen vaimenevalla signaalilla.

Caroline 648kHz lähetys tulee Orfordness nimisestä paikasta, sieltä lähetti aikoinaan BBC suurella teholla. On entinen horisontin yli näkevän tutkan asemapaikka. Carolinen lupa on 1kw ERP, mutta ällistytävän hyvä kuuluuvuus. Minulle tuli mieleen että onkohan asemapaikan omistajalla vielä voimassa lupa suurelle teholle, ja tämä lähetys olisikin enemmän kuin 1kW. Carolinellahan on ollut suunnitelmissa oma lähetysasema, mutta tämä ei ole se, vaan nyt ilmeisesti ostetaan lähetysaikaa. En tiedä kuinka pysyvä tilanne tämä on.

Nyt viikonloppuna sama Caroline North ohjelma tuli myös Manx Radion kautta taajuudella 1368kHz, mutta kuului huonommin. Ohjelma tehtiin livenä Ross Revenge laivalta. Ei ole tiedossa jatkuuko lähetys nyt viikonlopun jälkeen, ilmeisesti ainakin Manx palaa omaan ohjelmaan. Näitä Caroline North ohjelmia on tullut aiemminkin Manx Radion kautta, mutta nyt lisäksi myös taajuudella 648kHz. Aiemmin marraskuussa Caroline testasi muutaman päivän musiikilla ja testikuulutuksilla tätä taajuutta.

Olisipa hienoa jos saisivat Revengelle 1kw mastoon. Joo, kuuluvuus olisi heikko, mutta olisipa mitä yrittää.
Mutta oli miten oli hienoa, että Caroline on jälleen keskiaalloilla!

Caroline tuntuu jatkavan 648:lla, vaikka varsinaista ohjelmaa ei nyt tunnu tulevan, musiikkia kuitenkin, sillointällöin kuulutus testilähetyksestä.
Tässä linkin kuvassa pitäisi näkyä etualalla lähetysmasto, joka on ollut varamastona BBC:n käyttäessä asemaa samalla taajuudella. Ei ole tarvinnut rakentaa virityksiä, koska kaikki on ollut valmiina.

Carolinellahan on ollut suunnitelmissa oma lähetysasema, mutta tämä ei ole se, vaan nyt ilmeisesti ostetaan lähetysaikaa. En tiedä kuinka pysyvä tilanne tämä on.

Tassä lainaus Carolinen sivulta, eli ilmeisesti tämä nykyinen lähetyspaikka pitäisi olla pysyvä:

November 2017: After the award of our AM licence we were kindly offered a transmission site at Stonham Aspel, Suffolk and at a very sympathetic cost. But the site had no facilities, requiring us to install a mast, transmitter building, power amd Internet.

We then identified a Coastal site where everything was in place including a mast already tuned for 648 and this is the location we chose.

A commissioning test proved that all was operating to the satisfaction of Ofcom and after some days of silence we are now testing full time to ensure that the equipment is reliable. Then we will proceed to normal programmes.

Thanks must go to the site owners and the clever Techies who made it all work.
